Marking the second collaboration between Rory Gardiner and Kloke, the British-based photographer has delivered a series of striking images constituted upon The Barbican in London.
The work focuses upon the foliage surrounding the brutalist structure, and explores the contrast between its biological pre-dispositions for growth and abundance against the restrictive surfaces of the Barbican exterior. This sentiment of restraint versus impulse is in keeping with Kloke’s AW16 collection Control, and serves as a reminder of this battle within everyday metropolitan life.
The images play to the strengths of Gardiner’s photography and speak of an artist as interested in capturing the ethereal as he is the aesthetic.
